TID-BITS ON 1951
Did you know that 1951 was the year I <3 Lucy debuted. Also that year saw the first color television picture broadcast from the Empire State Building.
In 1951 the average household income was 3,700 a year.
You could buy a pound of bacon for 52 cents, a loaf of bread for 16 cents, & a
dozen eggs for 24 cents.
New items that year included Tupperware, swansons pot pies, sugar free soda,
cheez whiz, & sugar frosted flakes.
